ICommand (Food for thought)

My Car came with Icommand but it's the 07' version map, purchased (S$350)from a forrumer here for a 2010 map but found it out while being (map) loaded that it's a 08' version & was told by the 'vendor' that it's 08' but generally known as the "2010" version :faint:

Best part, approx after 2 months from 'purchase', 'new' version came into being :jaw: Asked for new version but am told that i need to 'pay'(S$350)! Wow, amazing, purchased a OLD Version when it was obvious that it was 'mis-representation' & asked to pay some more for 09' update :Cry:

Best part, tried to use the GPS to get to Jalan/Bukit Indah in JB but it's not listed. Found my way there & guess what? Screen shows that am in NO Man's land (plantation)! :censored:

All i've to say is NB

KNN, this is really misrep! 08 but generally known as "2010" version is a joke!

Maybe the forumer that sold this update to you should come out and explain his side of the story.

As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to Comand, bro camber53 and unker batam would know best. Don't compromise when it comes to the electronics of the car. MB rides are unlike Jap makes. Quality is a must.

I Believe all (regardless of what they've done) should be give a chance to explain themselves & 'Vendor' has PM me 'trying to explain' which is totally out of wack & unsatisfactory- Since you guys are the Admin & Mod, i will forward correspondence to you guys direct.

As for the rest, my deepest apologies for not mentioning names here. Please treat this post as a precautionary measure for you when & if you decide to purchase ICommand & have maps loaded. In my personal opinion, it's much cheaper & better to get the Germin GPS.

Seperately, 'Vendor' did 'Offered' a 'new map' after my complains but heh, am no beggar (not a tycoon also) hence needs NO Hand outs nor sympathy especially only after i've complained.

Salute to you for being so diplomatic about the matter. Ample time has been given to the "Vendor" to stand up and clarify the matter (as there are always 2 sides to the story), but he/she has chosen to keep mum about it and tried to 'settle' the problem with you in private by offering a new map after the complaint thread. Not very prof IMHO.

For the benefit of all forummers here, either the "Vendor" should voice himself/herself out, or the mods should name him/her since he/she choose to be silent about it.

Do apologize for not naming 'Vendor' for in retrospect, he's just making some éxtra cash', fault lies with me for being a sucker & accepting his 'Latest Version' map as 2010 when it's obviously not the case.

All map is made by D.C . Which I can't mod the map ...

Dear Guys,

Camber53 installed my NTG 4 in Nov '2010 with "2010 S.E.A Map".

I undertsand this version has the KPE tunnel whereas the maps 1 version earlier has not.

The one that was installed in my car has the KPE tunnel.

Early January this year I have been hounding him for the "2011 S.E.A Map" since I heard it has been released much earlier.

It was only in mid Feb '11 that he told me he finally got the map for "2011 S.E.A Map"

I paid him for the map updates and he installed it for me.

I only can say I got the 2011 SEA map for W204 comand aps from Camber53 is working fine till now.

Yes, I've also got this DVD map on hands freshly day before Chinese New Year in Feb right after it's been released at Germany.

The version inside Engineering Mode at Database Version should read as "201003" means the cut off is in 3rd Quarter of 2010 though it's released in end Jan and this map known as S.E.A. V.5
