C180 Kompressor W204

Greetings all! I am a total newbie w Merc... just sold my STi and thinking of getting into the continental world. CO didnt quite like VW, so gotta leave that out of the equation... so, its now down to BMW vs Merc... just went to CC this afternoon and tested the C180 Blue efficiency and the C200 CGI.. the former I have a problem adapting with.... while the latter did put a smile on my face... the gizmos are really a breath of fresh air, great job merc!!!

Now.. I was hoping to test drive a C180K today and see how well the 1.8ltr version supercharge works... but the SE told that the model has been discontinued and therefore, no test car available.... sigh.... I totally love the elegent yet sporty looks of the car.. inspired by one of the pictures I saw from US forum, with huge wheels and lowered stance... and kinda love at first sight!!...

been reading about lightweight pulley and Kbox on C180K... but also, at the same time, read feedback from the web about owners of C180K wanting their torque to be pushed up earlier, just like the 200 CGI model.... C200K seemed nice, but I dont really need all the extras (except these horses and torque, hehehhe)

I planned on buying a 2nd hand car... but usually car dealers dont really let people test drive their cars without some level of commitment (or at least show some sincerity) somehow...

If anyone of you C180K bros w KBox and pulley installed can offer me a ride, just so that I can feel if its good enough for me to put a deposit to my car dealer, that would be a dream come true. I am prepared to pay for this "service", seriously sincere about this. Hope to hear you guys! thanks heaps in advance:becky:

I switched from the 320i to the C180K recently and I am happy with performance of the C180K. In term of road holding and handling of the car, BMW is still one of the best in the business. From someone switching from STI, my opinion is that you would prefer the drive of the BMW.

C&C was selling the C180 CGI for only a couple of months in Y2010 and there are not many used one in the market.

Welcome!! Kompressor model won't suit you provided u intend to dump quite abit mod fund onto yr ride. CGI model is much torquey than kompressor model, go for at least C200 CGI model. Good luck in yr search, if wants to knows more come to our gtg and look look see see.

Dude if you want a fast car just buy a fast car and go with that instead of buying a less powered car and trying to mod it into a fast car. Coming from a STi you'll never be happy with the C180 as its small 1.6L has to work really hard to get the car up to speed. You' appreciate the extra horses the C200 give you in the long run. Just my 2 cents

Bro, i m actually comparing 1.8ltr c180k vs 1.8ltr c200 cgi... If the k box n pulley mod can make the former close to the latter.. If thats the case, i wd be happy w the c180k 1.8.... I can still regulate n adapt but yeah, what u said is very logical n i appreciate your thoughts :)

My 2 cents - just buy the C200 CGI. Torque torque torque!

C180K

156hp@5200rpm

Max. Torque 230Nm@2800-4600rpm

C200CGI

181hp@5500rpm

Max. Torque 270Nm@1800-4600rpm
