Alignment Issues

Hi All,

Just want to check if any W204 owners have alignment problems? I bought my car in Mar 2010 and had issue with keeping the car straight on the road (had to maintain a slight right pull to keep car straight). Went to a alignment shop and they told me that the owners actually replace the alignment bolts as some of our cars were left hand drive converted to right hand drive to suit our market. A change of the bolts will fix the issue. He mentioned alot of the E class owners went to him too - E coupe (Same chassis as our W204)

Not sure if any of you bros have the same experience to share and verify the statement?

Regards

Gary

Hey bro,

You might wanna check out this thread. http://www.sgmerc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7815&highlight=w204+alignment

Similar issues to the ones you are facing. W204s are mfr'd specifically for RHD markets so there should not be any issues with "conversion from LHD".

Would advise you to visit a reputable shop that does alignment. Where do you normally visit for your mx wheel alignment ?

Rgds.

Got pissed off as this was prevalent since day 1 with the car. Went to c&c and they told me all sorts of things from road not level German car and so on. Decided enough was enuff went to pandan loop asked for hanapi and told him to rectify the prob. Just got car back and bingo no more pulling to left.

Hi Leon Bro, Nice to see you here! I did my miata alignment at ubi by the recommendation of Ian. The guy did a wonderful job and thought i could fix the Merc issue too. But the guy quoted me $250 to rectify the issue and show me a bag of OEM bolts from Merc.

Thanks Blackmerc and Rssid, I will send it down to C&C to check it out first before paying a single cent... left mirror is having some weird sound too - common problem i guess... =(

Hey bro, weird sounds from the mirror is part of the common fault listing for W204. :)

I agree. Was ok but after c And c did tire rotation for me, I also need to pull to the right slightly by 1.5 degrees to keep car straight. Have arranged them to check end Jan on the alignment. Should be free is it since bought less than 10 mths. Plus after they rotate then become like that.

Wonder did they pump my tires after they rotate man...

Understand that W204 should run on 17" rims & any larger (Might be mistaken), alignment will be a problem hence one needs the 'Camber screws'.

I had this specific problem also & tried as a few shops might, it didn't go away hence Autospritze suggested that i pay People's Tire (Ubi, same row as Jeep Chee exhaust & Ppl's is using the old Fong Kim exhaust shop/unit) which duly offered the 'camber screws' & took some 2+ hours & walla, it's helleva better but it still does goes to the left very very slightly.

Bro! I just checked the MB interative manual.

The W204 saloon can go up to 18" rims while your monster C63 AMG goes up to 19". The same goes for the W212 too.
