Need advice on tire size for A200

I recently changed my tires on my A200 to Conti Premium Contact2, 205/55 R16 but my friend who specializes in selling used tires and rims told me that is a bad move because the factory fitted size is 195/55 R16 and I should have stick with the manufacturer recommended tire size. Can anyone advise me if I should now switch back to the recommended size or I should be fine with the new size? Thanks in advance.

Hi Beermug,

Here is the next one - http://www.sgmerc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=145132&postcount=1

Back to your tires - Your fren is correct!

The oem size is 195/55 R16!

Did a comparison and this is the difference from stk size

sidewall ht. = 5.5mm higher

Tire Width = 10mm broader

Tire Dia = 11mm bigger

Tire Circum. = 34.56mm bigger % Diff = 1.7% bigger than stk

Rev per km Stk = 512.35 New tire = 503.43 or 8.9 revolutions lesser.

or speedometer will read 1.7% slower or hardly any errors.

Correct Speed / Your speedometer

60km = 59km

70km = 69km

80km = 78.6km

90km = 88.5km

100km = 98.3km

This mean U can use these tires if the front tires do not rub against the wheel arch or suspension arms.

Will be good to revert back to the correct size once these current tires need replacement.

Hope this help!
