Hiya All,

in case you have forgotten, you bunch of guys are the ones giving me expert opinions on what should I do with my then newly purchase 1994 W124 E200. I wouldn't mention the $$$ that was involved so far, but these are the improvements:

Steering box replaced with another overhauled unit.

Gearbox replaced with a 1995 Masterpiece unit (my old one was leaking).

Worn engine parts replaced

New Bilstein shock-absorbers

Set of 4 15" Original Mercedes AMG Rims (from the C-Class model).

New Bosch Headlights

LED Interior lights replacing old bulbs (white instead of yellow as my interior is grey).

Air-Con Chrome Frames; Instruments Chrome Frames

There are more to go... next on the wish list:

Cat Converters (never changed for the past 16 years!!!)

Gearknob and Steering wheel (400mm diameter feels a little like driving a truck, hoping to get the E55 AMG type).

Possibly carbon-fibred the wood console (some of ya will kill me for this...)

Carewell has been excellent in instrumenting all these... no doubt it comes with some... (ahem).. cost, but the quality of workmanship from Francis and Tee are outstanding.

They introduced E-Power, a friction modifier and immediately during the first visit, the engine feels smoother and quieter. Great stuff! Too bad my is a 16V version caused there were a couple of customers' 8V unit that Francis has tuned them to perfecto....

Welcoming more advices from the SGMERC experts....

Thanks Ya for replying.

I might ICE the Merc in Phase III. I don't my kids would mind having an attached LCD Monitor for their viewing pleasure on long rides.

Just for more sharing, if LED is your game, you can find more from ebay motors or other online sites. Don't purchase them from our local boys because they marked up a fair bit (especially Autobac). The instrument LED, the door floorlights, the interior lights, the boot lights; these were easily solved. Just be careful on those festoon bulbs. You probably need a 38mm length for the doors but 41mm for the boot and license lights. There are some lights that are supposed to "cancel" the warning light that comes out when any 2 of the external lightbulbs burned out. I bought those but with no success. Instead, I replaced the license light with white festoon bulbs.

My problem is the window buttons which has miniture bulbs solder on each individual unit. So this a challenge to find a white miniture LED and re-solder it into these units. BTW, you can also replace the bulbs of your instrument cluster with LEDs. Get the 6 or 9 LEDs cluster, though the 9 ones can be quite bright.

Not only DVD for your kids but some thing for yourself too with GPS & Bluetooth - all in one HU.

U are right about not buying LED bulbs locally - I have been buying white LEDs for my rides all this while from eBay. I kept many spares at home:becky:

My previous W203, FL W211 & my current W212 - full white LEDs inside out...all from eBay except the current licence lamps - whole assembly + white LEDs from MBM - cheaper than eBay by a few $$$.

U might be able to find the tiny white led bulbs for your window buttons on eBay.

Nearly every month I m buying something over ebay and I've bought from >600 sellers over the last 10 years.....hahaha!
