Ever wondered how the cabin filter looks like after 15k?

Hi guys,

Just did my first 15k servicing. As I was used to the cabin filter being changed every 15k at Volvo, I requested for this to be done in my 15k. For Merc C, they say it is changed every 30k.

Paid $163.75 for it, parts & labour.

Here are the pictures of the old filter if you ever wondered.

Honestly speaking, I think it could have lasted another 15k. So, IMHO 30k is OK.

Now what I need to find out is where and how to change this myself, if I ever needed to.

Think you can find a video in Youtube to change this. But be-warn if you are seeing the same video I have seen, you will feel abit car sick after a while with the amateur shooting.

Thks for sharing. The worrying thing is that our nostril hairs are doing the filtering instead...LOL!

(Minor update)

Just did 45k servicing, which did not include air con filter change. So I went to Eng Soon (which I saw somewhere else on this forum) and bought a replacement filter.

Filter cost is slightly less than $30, BUT not original Merc. A bit sianzz. Let's see how long it lasts. I compared the original and OEM. The Merc ones definitely have better quality. But am hoping a filter is a filter, and it should work sufficiently well for next 15k. Let's see....

Replacement needed a bit of work. Took 30mins for myself. After doing it once, I am now more confident of doing it again.

Next time I will get original Merc ones. Any ideas where I can get them?

The OEM cabin filter has done about 7k. Don't like it. Can start to sell the exhaust fumes from outside now.

Anybody can recommend a shop sells original Merc parts? Somewhere in the East.

P/N for Cabin filter for W204 is A212 830 0218 (Please note that when you remove the original filter you may see P/N A212 830 0018 but both are the same.)

I have bought from Eng Soon and Tye Soon at $54 each (Orginal) and change it myself. They dont have OEM if they have i dont mind OEM which is cheaper.

I have writtin a procedure on changing it last year. First time i did it a bit tough and have to paste masking over the light bulb below glove box in order to see n loose the torx nut.

Have fun!!!

Paid Tye Soon (Toh Guan) a visit. Bought the A/C filter for W204. Was told part number now is A212 830 0318 instead.

Anyway, it's $50 + 7% GST. $53.50 nett.

I bought one spare, so anyone interested and can arrange to pick up at my convenience, can take over ($53.50). PM if interested.

Cheers
