some questions on E250 (W212)

could not figure these, can anyone help?

1. When set to "A", all lamps (big, small and led) lighted up even on daytime.

Any other setting will prompt me to switch of headlight when engine stops.

Can i set it such that only led is lighted during the day? worry i could be blinding others with the head lamps.

2. Does W212 have fog lamp? (i found the button but no effect on any lightings??)

3. Does W212 have parking lights? (again, dont see anything when turn set)

4. How to enter phone number? it can copy my complete phone book from mobile though. But i just wanted few numbers inside.

5. i plug a creative MP3 player to the given header (inside glove compartment). No matter how i play with, cannot seem to read at all?

6. a thick plastic film sticks on my left/right wing mirror. any purpose? Should i remove them?

7. How to activate the head lamp washer?

8. Lastly, under the air-con button we have this 'circulate air in-cabin'. I thought it should be by default lighted up? Whenever i start engine, this is not lighted, need to press down. did i understand wrongly?

The headlamps will light up automatically when the light sensors sense if there's not "enough light"

In bright sunny day, only the DRL will lighted up if it's set activated through your light setting manual.

Your high beam can only be set on if U turn the light switch to your right.

In A mode, U can only flick your stalk in to have high beam or push down for adaptive high beam. In adaptive high beam mode, your high beam is not activated unless the street/roads is very dark when there's no street lightling.

When an on-coming vehicle is sensed, the adaptive high beam will turn off the high beam.

Do U know there's also turning light when you made a left or right turn?

If yours is avantgarde model with the DRL, there's no front fog lamp.

The fog lamp switch U have is for the rear fog lamp

3. Does W212 have parking lights? (again, dont see anything when turn set)

On the extreme left of your switch is the parking lights for left or right4. How to enter phone number? it can copy my complete phone book from mobile though. But i just wanted few numbers inside.

Depends on your phone. I use iPhone 3 GS. My iPhone BT will allow me to set to sync only my favorite folder or which ever folder I want to sync to the BT phone book.

If U are using the aux in, it will only allow music to be played through your system but control by the creative mp3.

If your ride comes with the Multi Media Interface, U should have 3 cables to connect to the interface connection

a. an aux cable - for use for mp3 like Creative - Control only on the mp3

b. iPhone/iPod cable - will charged up certain models works for 3GS and full display on the screen and controls on the steering or the "joy stick button"

c. USB - Cable - Will accept usually an usb flash drive loaded with songs - Mine works in wma format and full control & display of song folders and songs for english.

6. a thick plastic film sticks on my left/right wing mirror. any purpose? Should i remove them?

Dunno what's that!

IIRC Headlamp washer will activate after certain number of single wipes of your windscreen

This is the default setting in all the Merc cars.

This is to allow fresh air to comes into the cabin and change of the stale air in the cabin. If U activate the button, it will be lighted up for some time and goes off.

Read the manual but still cannot find where is our parking lights (when turn to extereme left)

Was given 3 cables. Plugged MP3 player into the AUX cable, under MEDIA/AUX, nothing from screen, it does not show any folders.

...as for the film like sticker on your left & right mirror...it could be the auto dimmer...better dun remove it but check with the service advisor...:whistle:

Something like interior circulation only instead of a full auto circulation?

the audio set is not a computer, its doesnt auto search. U got to manually search for aux, i m sure u r still at Radio mode?

AUX IN - got nothing to see

USB IN - Can see folders and select songs

iPod/iPhone - Can see all & certain models can be charged too.

I was a great fan of Creative before - Loyal & buy sg products - Standup for Sg!:becky:

I had 3 mp3 player from them - which 1 was a one to one replacement, another repaired, but all 3 conked out just outside the warranty period.

Banged table at their Marina Sq outlet - caused they wanna charged me $60+

to repair a 1Gb mp3 player. A Snr guy appeared and told me that the particular model I bought (all the 3 same model) is quite problematic.

Told him to tell Mr. Sim dun sell such rubbish to the public!

Now me & my wife owned 2 Apple Shuffles(for my jogging), 1 Nano 3, 1 Nano 4, 1 iTouch & 2 iPhone 3GS. All of them are working fine!

We usually gathered at the last Sunday of each month @ Car Park F

Kallang Stadium from 4.30 pm onwards - families are also welcome!

Unker even downloaded all the on-line manual contents for the W212 & previously W211 into pdf files.

Here in Pleasure Island got so many libraries!

U can cum here to select a "book" or 2 to read at the library there

or bring back to your hotel room to read at your leisure.

Then U can slowly turn the pages 1 by 1.

Definitely won't fall alseep....muhahahaha!:becky:

2. The left mirror tiltedonly very slightly. can the angle be increased?

1. ask C & C to retrofit - probable answer as usual is not possible.

2. When in reverse gear, make sure your mirror selection button is on the left mirror. Then tilt as much as U want and the final setting will be your tilt each time U reverse your car
