Would you be able to tell a PI SE version to a Avantgarde Model?

hi all,

hear from graphvine network that PI bring in E class SE model and "upgrade" locally to Avantgarde model... If indeed this can be done, is there a way still 2 tell the differences physically?

Anything like a MB vehicle check to identify the car original specification? I think VW has a way for consumer to check what the car comes with from factory... juz wondering what about a MB?

Thanks for reading :)

star diagnostic can check. otherwise certain ppl in online forums can check your vehicle datacard to give you information like when your vehicle was sent to the port in germany etc etc which factory it was from.

i did the check once on my car to verify. all you need is the VIN.

Go buy from those PI with better feedback, you can easily find 1 as there are not many reputable PI who bring in MB.

Be prepared for the fact of what happen to your car after it left germany,

If not i will advise you just enjoy your NEW ride without knowing the truth.

This sound serious but this is the fact how PI's car are brought into our shore.

Cheers

Easy said & done!

Yours from AD rite?

If from PI eg. assembled in German Plant.

After that the car will be sent usually to UK or HK for registration, inspection (soon LTA will have these facilties) & deregistration.

Within 15 days after the registration, the car must be inspected, passed inspection and de-registered. (LTA requirements to qualify a PI car as a new car - anything more than 15 days - it cannot be registered as a new car under LTA current regualtions though the importer can appeal).

After deregistration, the exporters/importers are free to what they want to do to the car if they want to before shipping it here.

Some PI will also not give U the original service manual cos it contains the information of the dealers (I think more for commercial reasons & "secrets")

Some PI might tell their buyers where was the origin of ride came from i.e eg. meant for the UK or HK market some don't!

Caveat emptor :becky:

hope the PI is a reputable one then... they bring in many other sport/sedan models that are way more expensive than the car we bought.. well.. till the car is collected then let's see...
