Rattling sound from left pillar

Been having this for quite a while, its intermittent. But around 1500-2000rpm, there's a strange rattling sound coming from the left center pillar (where the passenger seat belt extends from). Wonder if any brothers have heard this.

And my goodness, the engine is really noisy. Its like a lion growling when i stop the car (at traffic light, etc). is this normal???

My friend also commented that the engine was indeed louder than usual from outside. Luckily it all seem normal once inside and all door closed
