W211 Wow!

It's been awhile since the last short editorial but before we continue, SGMERC would like to wish all members a very HAPPY & PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR! We hope 2010 will be an even better year for all of you here.

It's funny how sometimes we need an experience outside of what we've come to take for granted on a daily basis here to truly appreciate the goodness that we enjoy here. That is how I've come to truly appreciate the W211 - as a passenger no less and in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta!

Well known for it's traffic congestions and somewhat orderly chaos on the streets, it was the perfect scenario to truly enjoy the comfort of riding in a Silver Bird Mercedes-Benz (see pic above).

Plush seats riding on buttery smooth suspension and perfectly cooled air blowing gently from the vents at shin level - the perfect antidote for the surrounding chaos. The 4km ride took a good 45mins but I alighted feeling fresh as a daisy.

It was an excellent reminder and testament to the high standard of engineering of what every well maintained W211 should feel like - a royal ride.

Be mindful of your blessings and count them one by one!
