Remove carpets

remove the black tar bitumen sound proofing

remove all the seats except driver seat

you can shave a lot of weight off that ... minimum 150kg

did that for my honda civic .. Whoo Hooo !! can fly man !

but you have to live with the noise lah... which defeats the whole purpose of buying a lux car.

You are better off with a Evo 9 or Benga Civiv

Hi Mike, Thanks and great to hear this from you. Before the festive mood gone belated, May i wishes you and your family a Great Xmas and a Happy New Year. And to all SGMerc members and friends.

I got many replies, some are very entertaining and makes great day but somehow they miss the point, even then thank you very much.

Mike, great to learn your experiment as I was thinking hard on this part but now true you have done it. Do you have trouble in gear changes after the removal and May i ask you for the workshop you have done it?

Mike I did self experiment to run better as it consume lesser with an electric fan replacing the mechanical ones. They work good, less drag and runs cooler, you can try.

ya .. maybe we didnt get the point you were trying to make ... what exactly were you looking out for ?

to reduce weight to gain more power or to add on more "steriods" to enhance the performance

i am also hoping you can clarify so that we can entice more answers from the other gurus lurking around here.

like yourself, i am pretty dissatisfied with my lau pok ah pek car's pick up so any tip will be much appreciated

believe colin is looking into reducing weight for better FC????

for exhuast, follow mike's way, its the best!

for other, weight side, get a good set of tires!, down grade to 16inch (if you are on 17)

i last time tot of doing the extreme!, CF the hood and boot lei, just to reduce the weight!! but hor, for this lovely car, not nice lor..

engine wise, must have a good tuning done! i hadn't gone to the way of electric fan yet, but seems lots are saying its better FC!

for my FC, the best last time i got its 600KM for full tank! 50% highway 50% city.

now with 20%highway 80%city, i am getting about 520 to 550 max

just a little note, not sure if its me lor, from my view, whenever on highway, the best optimal speed for our cars is 110km/h (haiz man in white sure like me)

Hi Collin, no offense .. but when you mention reducing FC with the losing of 'weights', how much savings are you looking to achieve ?

Ya, maybe my first posting wasnt specific, apologies, My earlier fuel consumption around city routes and 30% high way returns me 8-9km per litre, after i m getting 10 and at times 11km per liter, though a leisure driver, seeking to improve towards 11-12km in more city driving, Read from some mike about exhaust job and others on Fibre Bonnet and Boot, now got new resolution and plans.

Yes, pal, its all for better consumption, sorry for the confusion, running on original 15' wheel with standard tyres but good to know the efficiency speed, reminds me to look into speeddo more often..

Mike, your engine is more efficient running on 220 and got you that mileage and city driving, what was your budget doing the upgrade 220.
