rear view Camera

Hi guys!

Got a question. My W221 pre facelift (out of warranty) rear view camera is acting up.

When I engage reverse, the camera doesnt work. It only works when I pop the boot. I called C&C and they told me it's a common fault on the S-class and it needs new connections ($1000 with installation!?!?!)

has anyone else experienced this and do you have a cheaper solution?

hi there,

you may want to send your car to other workshop for 2nd opinion since C&C workshop has a good reputation of very "good" quality workmanship and expensive parts..

Wah, really expensive..

I'm okie with the price if I damaged the camera. What I do not appreciate is that as advised by C&C that this is a common problem = manufacturing defect, then shouldn't it be a FOC repair?

or at the very least a very subsidised repair?

nope.. my warranty expired this yr July.

But I can safely say with this kind of service, this should be my last merc - at least for this lifetime
