C-Class Challenge

Went to the C-class challenge today. ;D

The weather was good, cool with short burst of drizzle to wet the road for some tricky driving.

There were 3 stations (slalom, ABS and BAS, cornering and braking) of 3 practice runs for each participant and a final combined course to see who clocked the fastest time (most averaged 49 to 50 secs).

This was a good opportunity to "trash" the new W204; a lot of hard cornering and flooring the pedal all the way to get the car accelerate in the shortest time.

Saw many instances of tail sliding when cornering hard and ESP taking control of the car.

My personal conclusion of the new W204;

The interior is beautiful, very well put together. One interesting feature is the front seat head rest will self-adjust to maintain the same set height whenever the seat back is adjusted.

The throttle by wire has a significant time lag when the pedal is floored max and the car takes a while to pick up the momentum to accelerate, I think a sprint booster will improve this.

The aglity control suspension works beautifully and with the ESP, it can corner hard.

I had "trashed" the W203 previousy in the Active Safety driving and this W204 has proven that the C-class is now a better car to "trash". Would love to have one.
