E200 AFTER ACCIDENT REPAIR REMARKS FROM ADVISOR AT PANDAN LOOP

Hi all,

my W211 was badly damaged by a drink and drunk driver 2 weeks ago in a carpark. Vehicle was stationary and parked in the lot. About 3 cars got damage. The drunk driver damaged our cars but run away from the scene. Got star assist to help us. Kudos to then for their effiecient and good service even in the wee morning. Car sent to Pandan Loop.

Damage very bad!!! about $32k repair work!!! Heartache. Lucky insurance cover. Anyway got a call from them tthis morning to collect car before 4pm. Rush there and see the car. Tech Advisor by the name of CL CHEONG wanted me to sign off discharge form without going through vehicle with me. My company executive secretary was with me and inspected the car on our own. Was also told to test drive the car myself!!!! ok did the drive found response lagging and drive not the same. Went back feedback to the advisor.

(1st response) : Told me that I did not drive for 10 days that is why different. ??? lost the feeling of the car. huh????

Was driving replacement car also mah same model leh so why make such comments?

(2nd response) : Then he tell me that year of manufactured different :-\ 2007 model(own) and 2008(rented) different driving feeling???? Step accelerator that is why not the same ???

Both car advangarde leh how come different? ???

(3rd response) : Then he goes on to tell us that the tire different size!!!! :bootyshake:

wah so much different in responsiveness meh?

refuse to even step out of his cosy showroom desk to check my car.

anyway rechecked found both cars tires the same.Tires both the same of two cars Michellin Premacy HP245/45/17 leh. saw the same on both cars but advisor sitting on his desk shaking legs talking on phone!!!!!

so what should i do? has anyone got such :asshole:treatment attitude here before when they collect their ride after accident repair? does CNC does want to hurry the job and do not care about our feedback? what should i do? what the tech advisor said is it true? I mean my car is nov 2007 and the rented 2008 (month???) will such difference in manufacturing dates affect the responsiveness of the engine? Also advisor did said that accident did not affect or damage the engine only the front driver door and fender. so why the mention of different year of manufacture and also tire size?

:banghead: why will such a senior advisor from such a reputable company gives such idiotic answers to us? i feel like a 3 year old being "smoked" by him. juz want me o sign and get the f :censored:k out the office and take my car.

Any advise will be great. thanks

Wow.... I think you are really unlucky to meet such a "responsible" technician. Well, go all the way up to complain. Somehow I feel that your technician is trying to brush you off by quickly asking you to sign the discharged form!!!! :afro:

Make sure that you get your RIGHTS back.

oh yes. there are loads of difference.

07' should be the pre-facelift, horsepower 167.

08' should be the facelifted, horsepower 184. but then again, if its the early 08' then it should be the same.

yup, during sept 2007 when i went down to test test, they already the FL models for test drive... so probably 07 and 08 are FL with same thing under the hood...

think that svc advisor is doing a CnC's reputation great harm by being such an :asshole:.

U have the right to know whats wrong and why ur car drives like that.

have a word w him and see if attitude changes. if not, if it was me, i will surely 'invite' him jialat jialat.

i will escalate all the way up to senior management.

my wife used to have some brake issue w SM Motors regarding her volvo s60 just after the warranty expired...and we escalated all the way up to management after we got less than satisfactory anwers....and our case was handled directly by the VP of their Customer Service.

case solved and no money paid.

Frankly, the service standards @ C&C Pandan Loop PLUNGED after Michael Weiser left. Also, another very good mechanic left for Lexus, and that's when I let go of my W211.

That's why I'm so reluctant to buy from C&C again, although my old SE has been calling me to test drive the W212, and I'm personally interested in the W204 C63 AMG - I guess in my case, twice bitten (the first time was the lemon of a W203 they sold me - spent 1/2 the time in the workshop, until I was more familiar with the courtesy car than my own car), forever shy...

SM is different.

They are top class in customer svc.

My FIL is living testimony to their service quality.

He is driving his 3rd Bobo now and i can tell you honestly... my FIL is not an easy customer to please.

wah then i sell away my car liao and buy volvo. will really prefer better customer service than being treated like a donkey!!!! in fact during the launch of the latest e2oo most of the sales staff nowadays behave more like those bankers with inadequate technical knowledge with either a bimbo look or those chicken backside hairstyle males. cant help but feel like being in a bank with loads of rubbish being thrown to me!!!

cnc have lost most of the prestige in the quality of their staff. makes no difference when you step into Mitsubishi or KIA showroom.!!!!(no offence meant to kia n Mit drivers) :punk1:

today a new tech guy called me up. was told that my gear box now got problems. need another week to rectify it and really see what is the matter.

yesterday that :asshole: cheong guy was telling me that accident did not damage engine component. only need to repair and replace what is damaged. but fail to have an overall check for the whole car and the overall performance to see if other parts are affected!!! >:(

lucky never sign the discharge form yesterday else kanna more $$$$ to repair on my own.

hope no other new issues coming out with my car

anyway lesson learnt when send car to cnc juz watch up for the tech advisor that handles accident repair in pandan loop. cl cheong!!! DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY HIS LIES. Super bo-chap attitude. make sure the car feels ok and good and that all is perfect and ok. you never know what is going on.

I also request a list of the parts that they repair and juz in case any of the parts fail. better to kia su a bit liao

hope my experience with cnc will be a warning to all bro and sis in this forum but of coz i :pray:that none of you will have have to go through what i have suffered. esp not getting involved in any accident :apwink:

drive safe and take care of your mb

cl cheong. but ::) eerrr do we really have to be so violent? but really thank you for your feedback . next time if such things happen will be good to have you beside :)

i really hope to be your bro than be your enemy ;D

but have uttered the f :censored:k word in front of him and really wanted to :ky: his :asshole:

but realize not worth it. why should i raise my blood pressure and help cnc teach his staff? let their higher management do it. but seriously we should be aware of this tech advisor and cnc should also look into this matter.

juz wanna share my experience with the forum and let us all be aware and not take their words and standard of service for granted.

No point paying so much more for perceived peace of mind. So many workshops out there are able to do diagnostics tests. What's so difficult about plugging in a computer to read error codes ? As we all know, it's much more than error codes when it comes to properly diagnosing a problem - we still need well experienced mechanics.

Hi Snowbull,

I am sorry to hear about your bad experience with the people at Pandan Loop.

This is quite unfortunate, and should not happen.

Too bad I cannot do anything specific now anymore. :angry3: (No longer working at C&C)

I will inform someone about this.

In the meantime, do take care and enjoy your ride.

well i will have to try them for my next merc? but got bad experience from PI b4 too. when i got my toyota Prado, the whole undercarriage was full of rust!!!!! i have to make a lot of noise and use a SLR to take pics underneath and also a lawyer letter send to them before they do something about it. was dramatic though cause the PI company can always run away and disappear. but will not mind trying a new responsible PI since the authorised one also no diff. maybe you can advise me a good PI. Will be thinking of changing my merc to another model(only if i have $$$ to spare). thanks :apwink:

I just read this thread and I also had bad experience with this CL Cheong. He seems very busy and it is almost impossible to get hold of him. His service is always with a attitude. Things improved after I looked for another SA.
