i believe you mean engine bay,

16V engines, be careful when you try to wash the engine bay, chances of STOPPING ENGINE is very HIGH!!

8V engine very very simple!! can wash!!! just cover the spark plug wires exchange! than wash away

i use cloth to wipe clean

dont have guts to spray any liquid into underneath the bonnet.... i need all my 2 cars to be up and running or wifey will beat me til i land in hospital

Ya old engine very simple - spray foam cleaner then hose down. At most use plastic bag to cover the carb area. Newer cars with EFI etc dun play play have to use cloth with degrease and manually wipe.

Careful when washing 16V engine, as the ECU and alot more electronic are located in the engine bay.

From past experience, if not careful the engine will stall and have to take about 2-3 hours for the moisture to dry before it can be restart again.

It is especially so if your harness is more than 5 years old...... they do breakdown....

use any carb cleaner or degreaser to clean it up manually with cloth
