Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE001. Lovin it.

You may want to try RE11. :)

This is the thread design on the RE001s. They're confidence inspiring even in the wet. The best part is they're non directional. :)

This is the thread design for the RE-11.

As with grippy tyres, the trade off is that these wear a little faster than the average tyre. Comfort wise, they are still pretty damn good but if you're after a street/track performance oriented tyre that you can live with everyday you may wish to consider them.

I got mine at Tai Huat Tyres @ 246P Upp Thompson Rd (located next to Prata House). Ain't got much room on the lane but it's friendly and efficient service.

I find most tyre shops in general to be quite pushy esp. if one drives a a european make. Chances are they will push the more expensive continental tyre brands ie, Michelin + Continental with the oft accompanying sales talk "Made in Europe good ah"..

Visited 4 tyre shops before deciding to settle with Tai Huat.

Oh and better if you ring them for sizing before going down.

Can also try out Potenza RE050. I have used it and the grip feels good with no issues taking v fast corners (for street use), it's got v gd review by Torque magazine.

This tyre is used on Ferraris and Porsches.

But take note of the tread wear rate. The softer the compound, faster the wear.

But believe that your staggered setup limits the choices you have.

any idea where is the best place to buy?

I would recomend POH HENG, Blk 4002 AMK ave10 (Mr. Justin, 9836 8640).

Can sms him and ask for price, size before you go now.

I have recommeded 2 friends and they hv change their tires last week and they said very good deal. I have change mine twice at this shop, really good prices. Must add that his shop is REALLY busy and not much time to talk....so dont expect TLC from him, just good deal. If dont care much about TLC service but just great deal this is the shop.

I must add that I have NO relation with him and just want to share info cos he has a Forum link at Honda SHC...(my previous ride)

Cheers!!!

went down to paya ubi yesterday and was told that RE-11 is not in SG yet???

Cannot be. Seen a few Honda boys using it already. Try ringing SouthEast Tyre @ Kaki Bukit.

i was on this for 1 year and 10 mths before they really ran out. now they're in my storeroom for use as track shoes for my ride. note that mine was the run flat model given by PML.

yes i have to agree that re050 is really good with corners, i have skidded in the rain at over 150kmph oversteering during one of our b roads. traction control kicked in and the only thing i left behind was my heart when i thought i was going to crash. this set of tires together with traction control saved my butt countless amount of times. without a doubt, it would be one of the top choices during my tire change.

im not sure if the wear rate is counted as fast, i'm ard 60,000 on only 1 set of tires, including quite a number of hard drifting. end result is a set of quadruple slicks with run flat feature.

Been with Reo50 for the past 6,000 km from brand new. So far, have not push it hard, but feel relatively comfortable and quiet. But subjectively, still prefer Michelin PP2 on my previous ride. very confidence inspiring grip, both in wet and dry. And definitely quieter to boot.

Just swapped out the RE001s to Advan Neova AD08.

If you think you are able to sacrifice some noise/comfort in exchange for performance grip, feel and predictability - this is a fantastic driving tyre in dry weather. Inspires more confidence (can't quantify properly but I dare say that corners are more enjoyable than the RE001s by +30%). No rainy season yet so I can't comment on the wet weather characteristics.

The compound is a little softer than your average tyre so there is still some level of comfort but the sidewalls are stiff (steel sidewall inserts) to prevent lateral flexing. This tyre is the successor to the AD07 which is fitted as original equipment to the Lotus Elise.

If long term durability and cost effective solutions are of primary concern, you might just throw them out of the window after driving with a set of these.

Do take note of the date of mfg. Though their prices are competitive, sometime the trie are quite old. When i changed my rim & tires just 3 mths also, i notices that the tire date of mfg is abt 1 1/2yr old.

Cheerz!
