I've seen some converted to the projector lamp type.

This's a MB option but unfortunately most if not all FL W204 in Sg came with Halogen Lamp

I cannot say whether LTA approves this or not but it's a standard option for W204 and I see why not and not an after market conversion

I've not heard from my friend who has converted and has problem during his car inspection

Cheers

Don't buy online and to make sure it's for RHD

Guys,

I've walked down that road especially with my W203.

Upon getting the new ride, I went to Benzline to retrofit my headlamps to Bi-Xenon.

The lamps were from Hella with original Mercedes part numbers.

During my 1st inspection upon 3 years and follow up with yearly inspections, VICOM did not asked about the headlamps except the Lorinser twin exos that I had fitted.

For the exos, I got the relevant TUV documents from Lorinser and submitted them to LTA followed by an inspection.

After that they gave me a letter of approval for my exos which I kept in the car.

I did it the hard way :)

The car was later sold to my younger Bro and he drove it till end of the 10 years COE

For my previous FLW204, I changed to the projector type by one of our former site sponsor but I took them out cos it was for a LHD car.

IMHO If you're replacing the lamp to a standard MB option with original parts, they will likely not question you about the lamps.

Over here in Indonesia, almost all the FLW204 came with the projector or Bi-Xenon option

Well noted.

It's definitely *NOT* LTA approved by changing from halogen to HID, however, if it looks OEM enough, the inspectors usually just turn a blind eye or simply do not know.

Where are you getting the conversion done? If i'm not wrong, @EleBest has also done many conversions in the past, he might be in a better position to advise.

Good luck with your inspection!

I'm try to look for OEM light, but quite hard to find. Unless those from taiwan.

Hi... I'm yet to replace the headlight. Can't find time to do 😅  But according to my buddy, he get oem retro fit no need to recode.

I heard those using original from scrap yard need to recode existing ecu and Total cost around 2k together with headlight.
