Hi everyone,

Very glad I managed to find this forum which was recommended to me by my friend just yesterday, before have been visiting the world forum and so far found only one member called otsego who gave me some helpful advice. (painter's tape - u will get to see in the pic later)

Have to say I have read quite a few threads and this is most definitely the right place to fit in.

Just an short intro,

Name: Adam

Ride: slk280

I have been thinking bout modding the car from day one but didnt know where was the right place to get the info i.e. ( places to mod, what to mod, etc...)

So far I managed to find this place called kbs at sin ming and started with my first mod which is bonnet fins. Have started planning what mods to get so hopefully the members here can help me out. (many thanks in advance)

Will be bringing my car to track again this august and see what needs to be improved when pushed to the limit. :devil2:

Here's a pic from the last track session.

My "to do" list at the moment, :banghead:

*suspension - bilstein (preferred)

*ecu tuning - not sure if available? hw much? and issit worth doing

*Louder exhaust note at mid to high revs

*aniti roll bars - "same qns as ecu"

*Smarttop

*Brakes

Have so many issues and questions to ask but think its better to ask abit at a time.

"Forgive me I am so anxious and happy to find this forum kekekeke :D"

Welcome to our forum!

Haha was that your first tape job? I remember Otsego's tape job at our first track day was something like that. All the tape was coming off!

Welcome on board Adam.

Don't worry about those who try to poison you into tuning the R171 as I'm sure there are plenty of anti-venoms available >:D

Enjoy your stay and don't worry about calling the lobby to extend your check out till 2PM as you know, we're in this for the long haul

Cheers!

Hi guys/gals,

Thanks for the very warm welcome. I can see the poisons around are aplenty, like a rabbit hole, DEEP!!! ;D

I probably need to meet up with you guys to see the mods available so that i can better decide.

Btw i am facing a problem which hasnt been resolved, my brakes.

They are feeling very spongy and have been trying to tell myself that its just normal but I doubt it. I even sent it back to CC to have it done and it was much much better BUT for only 1 day after that it came back again. I have a feeling that the mech did not bleed the brakes properly and there are still air pockets in the brake lines.

Was hoping to get some feedback from the other owners if they are also facing this problem. Maybe the best is to try another member's brake pedal feel before coming to a conclusion.

Just ordered a set of steel braided brake lines and gps transponder will update when I receive them.

Funny thing was someone placed this leaflet on my car this afternoon that deals in ecu reflash and so i called the guy up. Tuning is bout 9xx+

They even have a 24hr trial before u decide and if after tuning can be reverted back to stock.

Havent heard of this company so not sure if reputation is shady or not but the price is a headache.

Cheaper price scared not reliable, too ex also heart and pocket pain.

I want to post the website but unsure whether its against forum rules so if anyone need the link please let me know.

Is there a meet up session coming up soon?? ;)

We have meet up sessions on the last sunday of every month at kallang car park. You can try bleeding the brakes by yourself if you want to, it might be cheaper than having the mechanics do it. Btw if you're changing to steel braided hoses, why don't you change brake fluid to higher performance brake fluid with higher boiling points?

Hi ladyseals

Mostly its with my last car but so far only once with the slk

organised by fuji motorsports,

Btw it will be a morning session track, from 9-12

No problem!

Venue: Sepang international circuit

Date: 14th of August

Time: 9am - 12pm

Price: TBC (transponder will be included)

Organiser: Fuji Motorsports

Organising commitee: Adam & Gabriel

Will be heading up the night before and stay at hotel around nilai or near KLIA. Better to head there the night before so have enough rest for the track and the drive back if not u have to leave at 4am from singapore, then straight away go track, then head back. Practically 12 hours non stop, isnt easy for newbies.

So far tried before and wasnt that bad maybe cause got other people together with you plus playing (friendly) with other cars on the way back. :swduel:
