Charity event on 21st June 2009

I saw this charity event by BMW-SG and like to take part. Anyone keen to join ? Let our team do somthing too ?

Dear All

We will be doing a charity event to visit a group of less fortunate families from Boon Lay Constituency on 21 Jun 2009 (Sunday).

Some background about this constituency, about 95% of the children in this constituency requires financial assistance from government to go to school and all of them are from families who cannot afford the basic necessity. We felt that it will be good to take this opportunity to show some care and concern to them and at the same time, Raffles Junior College and MediaCorp artists will be taking part in this event as well. We hope that through this event, we not only touch the heart of the less unfortunate ppl but at the same time, we hope to bring across the message to the JC students so that they will continue to do more charity works with other ppl in future. We have brought up this idea to Madam Ho Geok Choo who is the MP for Boon lay GRC and she is very supportive with this idea.

BMW.SG is the biggest car club in singapore, I really hope you will show your support as well for this event, we need as many volunteers and drivers as possible to bring the food to approximately 300 families and at the same time spend some time with the family. There are more than 30000 ppl in this constituency, but we can only try our best to reach out to about 1000 ppl. Food is sponsored, we just need to bring the food and spend some quality time with these ppl. Of course, you may bring your own gifts or foods to the family if u like.

This is the event details:

8 AM: Meet at Kallang Meetup place (Optional for own BMW meetup first)

8:15AM: Move off for breakfast (Optional for own BMW meetup first)

9AM: Convoy to Raffles Junior College at Bishan

9AM to 10AM: Briefing, divide cars, students, artists into groups

10AM: Move off to Boon Lay Block 207 to pick up foods provided by our sponsor

1030AM - 11AM: Collection of foods and convoy to Boon Lay estate

11AM - 2PM: Delivery and time sharing session

2PM: End of event. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
