Uneven shades of color on black mesh on top dash board

Noticed that the black mesh on top of my w204 dash board (at the edge of the dashboard and front windscreen) has uneven shades of black under different lighting conditions. I know that there are ventilation holes under the black mesh, but not sure why there's an uneven shade when looking at it from the driving position. Do you guys have such an issue too? Thanks
