Congrats! Your dream has finally come true. Now that u have taken the plunge be prepared to smile every mile. If the car does not yet have smarttop, go get it. I'm getting mine later this month. SLK is abt topless driving so I try to as often as I can. Hope u do as well. If u are at the GTG tomolo, just chat up the SLK bunch and plan what u wanna do the day u collect ur car. I went for a long, long, long topless drive at night. All the best!

Btw, if ur car is CnC, u can go for a free check up at CnC. But there is really no need to svc there. MBM or a trusted mechanic will do find. My mech said that the SLK is quite a straightforward car. No need specialized care mostly. As for the roof, he said ... "Just Use It!" :bboyspin:

Hi, I just bought an old model SLK 200A. its time for servicing but should i go down to C&C to do it or? any good merchanics that is specialised in Merc servicing??

hi Jolene!

welcome to the club!

remember to put ur name in the slk driver's list!

looking forward to seeing you at our meetup!

cheers! :apwink:

Hi newbie here! Sorry to hijack this thread. Just sold my current ride for a great price and about to book a PI SLK200.

Its a dream that is about to come true since I chanced upon it a few yrs ago. I even kept a mercedes sponsored "Blackbook" magazine that had some local tv folks (Tay Ping Hui, Jade Seah, and Elvin Ng) and one of them modeled the SLK. Friends advised the new Z4 but "no feeling" for that curvy roadster.

Saw a few in a local PI in the western region and tempted cos it is substantially cheaper. High options. Warranty with MBM. OMV 50+ k. Yr of production 2009.

Can SLK experts advise on what to look out for in a PI car or any other considerations? And what u feel would be a reasonable price for a pi SLK200 these days? Thanks!

I bought my SLK200 a little over 6 months ago from Lay Auto (when Cat B COE was still something like 7k?). Initial asking price was $159,800; I ended up paying 153k after a little haggling. Back then, C&C quoted me 186k after 10k discount and offered to throw in an AMG kit; however, their base SLK did not include electric/memory seats unlike the PI model, and was over 30k more expensive. Considering COE has gone up by over 10k since then, 160k+ sounds fairly reasonable.

However, you may have to put up with some monkey business when dealing with PIs. For instance, Lay Auto delayed the delivery of my car; apparently they had given away my COE because my car loan had been "delayed". So I only got my car 2 weeks after making payment because they had to bid for a new COE. If the car is not in stock, you can expect plenty of "delays" as well; my parents had a similar experience when buying a PI car.

hi mercedoc welcome to the family!

since the COE went up i guess the PI slks are within the price range of 180k.

PI slks can offer plenty of options so look out for the most options offered within the price region. once u feel comfy with it juz book it! our omv are mostly 50k and above so maybe u like to watch out for it as well.

do join us soon!

cheers!
