Recently on my new C180, I noticed that when shifting from reverse gear to forward drive gear, the car can feel a momentary jerk.

All this happen while parking the car.

Is this normal??

Did you bring the car to a complete stop first before changing the gears? Are the brakes fully depressed when you change the gear?

If yes to both questions, then its not really normal. Monitor for a few days first. If it continues, send the car in for a quick check.

Cheers

My W204 also jerk slightly when put to 'P' from 'D' or 'R', depending on the road conditions. Getting used to it; so now, I sort of know when it will jerk and will ensure that the car comes to a complete stop before allowing anyone to come in or go out the car. Tried to put to 'N' before putting to 'P' and step on the brake and it works to minimise the jerk.
