Hmmm I watched the first 2 movies years ago before I liked cars. If I'm not wrong, don't they only feature crazily modified jap and american cars?

yes, ff1 featured honda civics like the EG9 if i remember correctly.

ff2 featured mitsubishi evo and convertible...

ff3td featured 350z and other jap tuners...

ff4 is basically the continuation of ff1, with plenty of muscle cars including the SS and toreno... all famous before our time...

i vaguely remember a mini street drag between a ferrari and a tiong chia in FF1...

i have yet to see a fast and furious movie starring mercedes and bmw as their lead cars... kekekeke... i wanna see the M5 vs E63... maybe its a calling for a "local production"... if you get my drift...
