Prop-shaft coupling worn & Steering tie-rod,ball joint worn

Hi friends, Good day

I went to C&C for a 33-points inspection. No critical chassis issue was reported. However, advisory as follows  :-  (1) Prop-shaft  hard-rubber coupling worn. (2) steering tie-rod ball-joint worn.  Car left with 13 months, if I don't replace, what would be the impact to comfort (I.e. low noise, less bumpy, no vibration) and its driveability ??

C&C specialist mentioned that 'it is best to replace' .I am seeking a 2nd opinion

Appreciate your thoughts ad comments

A separate issue - anyone was experience in resolving:- Rear- centre headrest cannot be lowered and appeared stuck. Only the Left and Right headrest is working and controllable

Thanks...mike

Depending on severity now and the symptoms, read the link below:

- (2) steering tie-rod ball-joint worn.

Depends if you can take the vibration (usually at higher speeds ~100km/h) and how bad it is. Probably the vibration if really serious, may affect drivability esp at higher speeds.

Hi My center rear Head rest also could not be lowered. Sent to WS and CC, no faults registered (air-pump). Read up some forums and faults could be air pumps or leaky air tubes.

I didnt repair it bu simply remove the center headrest and replace the empty slow with a tissue box
