Cold Air Intake works?

Thought of getting cold air intake. Is there any benefits ?

Heard, there will be a change of exhaust note ?

Nah....won't make a difference in the exos sound. You are better off getting a K&N drop in filter.

Dont bother. Merc engineer spent so many man-hours working on the intake design to get the right "system" for the engine, only to be "spoilt" by a couple hundred dolar set up of CAI.

K&N direct replacement is good enough

You have to answer this question first - are u going for a complete makeover (massive mods) followed by a customed tuned or a complete custom tune?

If YES, CAI will get to serve its purpose and you get benefits from it.

If NO, CAI will be beneficial to the sellers while your engine bay has better aesthetic and you get placebo effect.

Hope you get the idea.

I got the CF air intake from a site sponsor here (carbonrevo) which allows for the air to funnel in directly. it works good for me.

Dyno it and it will show loses in low-mid end while gains/benefits happens in mid-high end, particularly torque.

More importantly, some rides may even experience lower max horsepower over "stock" - this is not hearsay somesay or isay because it is proven by dyno.

Go dyno before & after installion (3 runs ea) to see the result for thyself... ensure the engine is not at "cold start".

The usage of "butt feeling" for constructive discussion is invalid imo.

So ultimately is individual's choice such as;

- do u drive often in mid-high end or low-mid end?

- let placebo effect play and feel good about it.
