Decat!

Hi Guys,

 

I want to make my car louder, any suggestions how?

 

Currently have open pot and changed exhaust already

 

Thought of decat but what are the pro and cons??

Just remove the muffler and it will be real loud, including drone. LOL

Anyway, advantage and disadvantage of decat...

Disadvantage is clear:

- Refit before going inspection

- Droning level goes up.

- If pulled over, follow outrider (if he truely suspicious) to inspection centre... given stricter punishment from Nov'15, this is equal to up the lorry.

Note - I was pulled over and told to follow LTA outrider to inspection center, all bcos he refuse to believe exhaust system is LTA compliant... certification was shown to him too. Of course passed the inspection but wasted half a day.

Advantages:

- based on engine + turbo potential, decat would give u... say 1.5hp?

... i cannot think of any more except for Gazebo effect of decat.

Anyway on a serious note...

Decat is destroying the internal "honey combs" of the catalytic converter... it does not exactly make your exhaust louder.

Removing the muffler WILL make your exhaust louder but i will bet that the 1st outrider comes near u, will likely pull u over... a hint of how loud it can be.
