Issue with Fuel Filler Door Lid Cover -- won't open !

Not sure if any Bros faces this problem

 

Have been experiencing this problem quite intermittently recently, then it becomes worse.

 

The door just wont open no matter how much I tried.  Try push soft, push hard, push here, push there it still stubbornly refuses to open.

Have to repeatedly keep pushing and pray it will open, taking up to many, many minutes, and lots of embarrassment with many eyes on you. 

 

Imagine this ... ran out of petrol, the cover won't open for you to refuel.

You call 'that number' and they ask u drive down ??

 

"Hello" ... no petrol how to drive down ?  scarly stuck on PIE then call tow truck ?! 

 

Small issue ... but can be quite stressful

 

Anyway ... problem solved now.  But have to leave there for hours ....
They replaced the mechanism, but did mentioned quite a few failures they have experienced.

 

So sharing here ... if u got this symptom, quickly go replace it before u run out of petrol
