Open pot!!

Will lose low end torque.

Car will feel underpowered during acceleration.

If done incorrectly, engine will suck in more hot air from the engine bay.

Fuel consumption will increase.

All for the sake of louder ending sound.

The CLA180 does't have a powerful engine to begin with. Downsides to open pod won't be that obvious on a larger more powerful engine.

Suck hotter air will result in less efficient "fire-O2-fuel" combustion which meant lower hp, Nm and fuel efficiency... unless you have a customised "air duct" to channel cooler air towards the pod and also insulate the surrounding of the open pod from the engine bay's heat. Otherwise installing it is just unwise. IMHO.

Hi, thanks for all the advise. May i know if I do it, will warning lights and all appear? Cuz conti cars have a lot of electronics

It shouldn't cause any warning lights to appear. You should feel the strain on the engine and loss of torque immediately.

Actually the CEL light may come on to warn you that airflow is too high especially if the head you use is high flow. Your engine may keep coughing and dying also. Not to mention definitely your throttle body will become more dirty much more quickly... sometimes can even find leaves, twigs, bugs, etc. inside. Choice is still yours to install or not of course.

What leave , twigs , bugs in the throttle body using open pod?

As you travel, these things may be sucked in at the air inlet. If the open pod mesh is too coarse, these may pass through it and end up in your throttle body. Visualize it as if you don't have a significant filter or no filter where your air filter should be.

DIY mine with K&N open pot head. Remove the stock filter close back the intake cover and plant a open pot filter head right in front of intake inlet. Lose low end big time, fun start only mid and high rev, sound slight better. No CEL light nothing. Drove for awhile then revert back to stock.

Only thing you can do is to upgrade to K&N filter, in the middle better open pod & stock.
