Car jerking while coming to a stop

My W212 (5 speed gear) have this problem of jerking 2-3 times whenever I brake and it happens only when it comes to a near stop. Out of 10 times braking, the jerk happens about 5 times. Not a brake disks rotor issue. Was told by mechanic it may be a gear issue and just live with it. Any bros have this problems before? I am wondering if a software upgrade may help.
