Recommendation For Tuning

First up, a shout out to everyone here! I am new to this forum.

Driving a B200 year 2013. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a ECU tuning?

quick check does this affect warranty? understand some of this chip mods only last for a couple of years and require some equipment changes to the car?

For ECUs that are able to reflash, the tuner would be able to do alot more, including increasing boost, advance/retard ignition timing, A/F ratio, etc. However, for ECUs that are unable to be reflashed, you would only have the option of tuning boxes.

 

Tuning boxes work in the manner that certain parameters are fed into the tuning box itself before going back to the ECU. Tuning boxes basically fools the ECU to think that the boost is lower and hence the ECU will increase the boost to a higher than norm output in reality. I don't think A/F ratio is tweaked. Hence to run at higher boost by tuners such as Brabus or Carlsson, their kit will comprise of a larger or thicker intercooler, to cope with the higher boost.

 

A/F = Air/Fuel Ratio

Boost = Turbocharger Output Pressure
