Air Con Smell

Yes, usually workshops don't itemise labour charge, unless it is CnC :D… and workshop will charge an amount over stockist price for shipment and profit. Though I suspect stockists sell to workshops at a lower price than they sell us.

But the main reason for DIY is to save time to go workshop, and also as a hobby for weekend afternoons :).

but u said u changed urs too... at wrk shop.. for $95..

so $95 STILL isnt a gd price?

I'm just saying I paid $95 for the part (instead of $75) since labor was charged separately as a lump sum figure... so comparing it, I paid $20 more? I mean its not alot... but I'm just saying I paid MORE because I didn't DIY

Just like the home aircon, try not changing/washing the filter for 1yr or more and u will notice a smell. Change/wash it and this smell is gone... same applies to vehicle aircon.

Cents worth.

I was told by the mechanic in AMK Ind Part 2 that the cooling coil is spoilt and must change to get rid of the initial smell when Aircon was turned up. Quote $2200 for a 3 days job.

Ended up I paid $95 to change the cabin filter and it jus works. Except now Aircon got a bit of very very very soft howling sound. Hopefully it is running in of air cabin filter and will go away after a while......
