Check brake wear

Recommended Posts

Hi there, need advice from guys here.

I just did my tyre, f/r pad and sensor changed after the check brake wear sign appears.

Was recommended by tyre shop to use this brand called textar brake pad.

After changing, the sign is still there and they tried to reset using diagnosis tool but to no avail!

Any advice would be appreciated..

Btw I'm driving a 09 c200k..

OMG.....seems like tyre shop not very competent.

the brake pad warning sensor light goes on and off without the need of any diagnostic tools.

Tyre sensor is like a few dollars...not an expensive item that you can replace anytime you need.

Whatever brand of pads, if its compatable, it should work fine. Just that you need to pay attention to less known brands pads just in case the QC sux.

i am still interested to know which tyre shop you go to if you can share.

Textar is a well known brand in the OE supplier chain.  They are under the TMD friction group Germany which also owns Pagid, Mintex and Don.  Some of the original pads are made by Textar too.

Coming back to the brake sensor, the warning light is self off if sensor is replaced well.  Did they put in the correct sensor or the sensor is defective...due to bad luck.

Drove to chip soon earlier this morning to have it checked, great service from crews there!!

Checked my sensors even though not done by them.

Found out that 1 of the new sensors were faulty and had it replaced..
