Key fob casing

Recommended Posts

I am looking to buy a replacement external casing (shell) for the remote key fob to replace my cracked casing.

Would appreciate any advice on where to buy this.

Asked a shop making replacement car keys and was quoted $150 but I do not need the electronics inside.

A friend based in China has told me that he can get me the key casing for about S$15.

I have asked him to buy 2!

I guess I can take a risk on $30 that it will fit and work. The photo he took of the sample seems similar to mine.

Anyway I have been told that one can buy off eBay for about S$30 each.

For the info of others who may need to replace their casing in the near future.

Thanks for the info but I have already bought one for about S$14.

Crazy thing was that it comes with the battery holder and the metal key (uncut).

All for a mere $14!

However the battery holder didnt work well, the 4 metal contacts seem to be a bit out of alignment so I used back the original 'innards' and it works fine.
