Black Box in Tyre Compartment

Was cleaning out the boot and tyre compartment of my FL W204.

 

Top right in the tyre compartment, there is this black box. I couldn't get it open. there seems to have some cables/ropes inside there... Also couldn't find anything in the manual talking about it.

 

What is it ?

 

How do I open it ?

Black plastic box about 15x15x6cm size?

I think it might be the electrical tyre pump set?

 

For the W211, I think the smaller battery is in the engine compartment next to the main battery too.

From the look of the black cover, it don't seems to open easily. 

 

Does this means that when we replace battery, we only need to replace the one in the engine compartment, this spare does not need to be replace?

It's the smaller battery for your keyless entry.... Auto boot.. and other electronics... leave it alone. .
