What is the plot of this movie?

Michael Bay is also leaking out tons of false information-chances are nobody will really know what its going to be until it comes out.

However, while nothing is confirmed, both Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg said in interviews that, if they ever made a sequel to "Transformers", they would make a big-screen adaptation of the Unicron Saga, since they feel it's the most logical plot for a sequel as it spans nearly every form of Transfomers media (the original series, the newer cartoon and the comic books).

UPDATE: At the MTV movie awards when accepting the award for BEST MOVIE (naturally) Co-Star Megan Fox proclaimed how good the sequel was going to be, Rainn Wilson who presented best kiss wearing nothing but a teddy bear told The Associated Press on the gold carpet that he would play a college professor in "Transformers 2.", and finally Transformer Director Michael Bay said the film would begin shooting the following day and take place two years after the first film

Will Megatron return?

It has been confirmed that Soundwave will play a role in Megatron's revival. So, in short, yes. Though people must take any information that is received as "official" - or otherwise - with a grain of salt

Will any of the original cast members return?

There's been a lot of questions about who from the first film will return for Transformers 2, which hits theaters on June 26, 2009 release.

Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro,

Transformer:

Optimus Prime, Rachet, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Starscream, Barricade

There are rumors doing their routine that Megatron - as a reformated Galvatron - and Jazz will be coming back for the sequel, but like with any information released, should be taken with a grain or two of salt.

Have any new Transformers been announced yet?

While speaking with MTV news director Michael Bay revealed "upwards of 20 robots will do battle in the sequel" also stating that he will focus on how the robots will be more fully and individually realized than on the number of robots. Which means will will not only see more giant robot death matches, but a far more in depth analysis of the bots (weapons, background, types of machine, etc...). "The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels," he said.

Yes. So far the Decepticons Soundwave and Ravage, as well as Autobot sideswipe have been confirmed. Other Transformers that have been rumored - and somehow "confirmed" (by fans); these are:

Skyfire - A SR-71 Blackbird has been used in as either a prop or as a Transformer, no confirmation yet.

Arcee - As several (three) motorbikes spotted on set.

Astrotrain - A potential vehicle has apparently been spotted on set.

Wheeljack - Saab-Aero X that has been spotted on set.

Megatron - Design pictures of a Cybertonian tank have been "leaked" on the internet.

Devastator - Art has been spotted on and subsequently pulled off the net of Long Haul, leading to rumors that Devastator will be making an appearance, but no news on his fellow comrades as of yet.

? - Two ice-cream trucks have been spotted on several location shoots, especially around the Bethlehem Steel site in Pennsylvania. No confirmation on who these - if they really are - Transformers are.

Skids - A Chevy Beat with the license plate "Skids" has been spotted on set. Though this may be a play by the production company as the license plate could easily be edited in post production.

When will we see a trailer?

This question has 2 answers, however only 1 is certain. It is POSSIBLE but highly unlikely that an early teaser could be on the Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull DVD, out October 14th. Since both Transformers 2 & Indian Jones are owned by Paramount & star Shia LaBeouf, it's possible it could be on there, but again highly unlikely.

It has been confirmed that the full-length Theatrical Trailer for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen will make its debut right infront of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek on May 8th, 2009.
