CnC - must buy insurance from AIG?

Hi Guys,

Is it a must to buy insurance from AIG if you bought a new mercedes from CnC?

 

AIG is 2500 where NTUC only 1600.

 

Any advice please?

u can insist u buy outside.

Not necessary. Can buy from outside. Just get the necessary vehicle info from your SE. But of course some SE will still try to push you to get from them as they get a commission out of it.

Sometimes it's a win-win thingy...get insurance from SE, can always ask for something.

Have you compared the insurance policy coverage between the two? If all equal then I'd say go for the cheaper one obviously.

I doubt the difference is so much. Did you ask what's the coverage? Eg. NCD protector, 1st year total loss 1-1 replacement, excess, repair at C&C etc.

They pushed me AIG saying it is mandatory to buy for 1st year. Coverage quite same to Aviva (was costing me $600 less) except excess (AIG - $800; Aviva - $500).

You can take any insurance you like. Not necessary from AIG. Just that if your SE has done a good job and you like to incentivise your SE take AIG. Your SE can earn extra commission.

Do take note that not all insuarance company list C&C as an aurthorised workshop even if you buy your car directly from AD.

AIG from C&C will give 1-for-1 new car replacement in case of total loss during first year. Can be due to any reason like fire, theft or bad accident.

I took for first year only. Second year onwards, go back to my normal insurer.
