Car shut down suddenly

Just to share with all

Yesterday, almost reaching home, my car suddenly shut off, and steering wheel locked. Car continue to glide.. Luckily managed to use force to steer away, otherwise would have mounted onto curb. Scary experience as family with 2 young kids on board. Towed car to workshop and waiting for diagnosis. Was told no comma between ecu n gearbox n valve body etc which explains the engine shutoff.

Mine is an 08 with 152k mileage.

I have the same issue with engine stall when I has a w220. Has to change the O2 sensor and fuel pump and it's back to normal.

The only thing that will usually work is the brake and Handbrake.

Yes, it's a W221

Just checked with workshop and was told something to do with circuit board being "burnt"

I am Burnt ECU? a new ECU i was told will be at least 5k

I just had the similar issue. It's the ecu. Needs to be changed.

Heard from my mechanic this is a common problem for S class, ECU burnt. Is it true? He told me damage is about 4K +

W221 seems to have such ECU problem. All dash lights comes on and car misfire.

Wa seh... Sounds damm scary... I cannot imagine if this happen in the middle of high speed... Steering lock.... Omg.... Mine is 2008 105k mileage.... Am I just waiting for time's up?? Any preventive measure?

Ya I think they should do a recall if this is a common fault... Sounds so dangerous... Anyway I Google for w221 ecu fault... Is does come back with a couple of reported burnt ecu.... Does anyone knows more about this ecu fault?? Can shed some light??
