Anyone knows what brand is C&C ES800 DVR?

Recommended Posts

Just ordered an A180 and SE included the ES800 DVR. Anyone knows what make this DVR is?

Hopefully, it is a reliable make and model and comparable to Blackvue.

Think is Korea brand and got display at the Alexandra Cnc shelf. Was quote 400 to 500 plus last time...

But the price is not worth it

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

I recently replaced my 3 year old Blackvue 350 with iROAD  Cost:$240 + $27 (GPS) + $20 constant power which is not needed

I was seeking for a good 2CH model for many years and finally found one.

Pro:

  • build in power cut off (no need for constant power but I installed it anyway)
  • 60 FPS (30 front, 30 back)
  • GPS for Speed and Location
  • Over Heating auto cut off and turn on

cons:

  • Time stamp recording does not use GPS locational time
  • form factor (prefer like blackvue so that the lens are as close to the windscreen as possible
  • image is average (sharpness/ focus) due to window tint'
  • no replay screen but it does not matter to me
  • GPS is not build in

Installation $135 (but I DIY)

DIY process

Constant power cut off if less than 12v

using a multimeter select the fuse in the rear fuse box to tab into

Engine should remain off and look for a fuse that has power of 12v

install constant power in the rear fuse box. Selected fuse 71 (cig) for ACC and fuse 74 (keyless go) for constant power

Attached the ground cable.

Grab the power cable and lay the line from the front windscreen skirting along the rubber seal of the door to the rear seat.

Pull the wire into the boot and connect it to the constant power supply

For rest it is easy for rear camera and GPS

so for less than $300 you can get a 2 CH DVR 24/7 monitoring

Just got my A180. It records in front only. There is a small screen which cannot be turned off permanently - it turns on everytime car switched on and need to turn off manually. Looks kinda like ones used by cheapo taxis. Not like blackvue I DIY installed in my E.

Quality wise it is FHD and seems good. Comes with GPS. I think I will leave it as its fit for purpose.

Thank you for sharing such information.

U collected your NEW C180... nice.  Enjoy

Oh u used to have BlackVue ?  When I was doing research, I was thinking the same.  If the free one from C&C NO good, I will take it down and install BlackVue which comes with front and back recording.

But apparently, it didn't look too ugly, too bulky and so far , still serving me well.

Hey don't need to turn off manually.  When u off the car, it will go off mah, didn't it ?

Yes the unit does turn off when car switch off. what is annoying is the lcd screen turns on everytime the car is turned on. and if you want it off, you need to turn the screen on manually each time.

apart from that, its fit for purpose. i will most probably live with this unit instead of changing to something like blackvue

just installed back an old Caidrox 3000 2CH camera which i kept it in the boot for 1 yr after uninstalling from my dad's car. Although it's not FHD but serves it's purpose.

Will need an advice here, do the DVRs consume alot of power? Cos during 60K servicing at C&C, they mentioned my battery was good but as it's 2yrs 9mths old, recommend to change the battery. Even Chip Soon did a battery test for me and reading was Good and Life was @ 95%. So should I change the battery or continue using the current battery?
