Advice on stain, dust etc removal or prevention

Recommended Posts

Hello Merc-ian,

Looking for advice on what is the best (or 2nd best ) way to protect your car...my problem is that I live very close to a new condo project currently under construction. As you can imagine, my car is perpetually covered in a layer of dust overnight. Never happened before until they started construction work.  Obviously wiping the car etc EVERY DAY is a solution but its becoming a chore for everyone including domestic helper. :(

What do you do? Leave the dust on and clean once a week? Apply some chemical polish on your car? Or simply just get one of those cover to cover the entire car?  If chemical solution or just the cover, can recommend good one ah?

Thanks guys...

If its only layer of fine dust, don't wipe with a wet cloth....it will only scratch the paint work. Hosing it down with water will be better.

Otherwise, leave the dust there & go for a drive, the wind from the car motion will drive most off. If it drizzles with light rain, water marks will be very obvious when it dries, better to hope for a heavy shower.

Better to get a car cover....simple. Make sure it's a quality one which is water resistant & yet breathable.
