Just purchased a 2010 E200 CGI Saloon, some questions

Hello everyone! Great to join the club. I just bought a late 2010 pre-owned E200 CGI about 2 weeks ago.

Really happy about the purchase (except when I heard that COE may fall in the coming months), and I enjoy driving it.

I have a few questions I want to ask as I am new to mercedes...

1. When the engine is not fully warmed up, for example engine temperature < 90 degrees, is it normal for the car acceleration to be "sticky" and "draggy" (for lack of better words)? My experience is that when I try to accelerate after overnight parking, the car RPM will be high, but yet refuses to change to next gear. Only after a while after start up, then my car will "loosen" up. Is this normal?

2. Seems that my Audio 20 does not have bluetooth music streaming even after I turn it "on" in Engineering screen. Where can I upgrade my firmware? I checked and the firmware is dated 2010. C&C claim nothing can be done. I don't want to do retrofit COMMAND, just want firmware update and hopefully get bluetooth audio working, is that possible?

3. For my first full tank of RON 98 petrol, about 70 litre, I got only 560 km out of it before the refuel icon light up. Seems quite bad mileage compared to the specs.  Is the 12.5 l/100km consumption about normal? I am driving 70% city and 30% highway.

Thank you for reading and look forward to for your advice! :)

Hi Rocknroll 14... welcome... as for your first question... it's normal... so try to leave engine on for at lest a minute before you move off... or if better let the engine warm up... dunno about 2nd question ... but as for 3rd... our ride is heavy for a 1.8ltr... so if you r doing 70% city... that mileage is normal for you need a lot of gas to move off... you r driving a E200 which give you only 184 BHP.... so maybe tuning up the engine may help....

My call is... Forget the FC and just enjoy your ride....

Did engine oil change alr? My previous ride also "lag" when going to due for engine oil change. :)

1. Warm up for about a couple of minutes before driving off. If I full throttle w/o warming up, The car tend to pull back a little before changing gear.

2. Stock, I don't think it has BT streaming. I installed Thumb Drive and DVD separately.

3. For FC, I am running 1.3 bar, I would be able to do 550 kms +/- for a full tank.

Thanks bro Ah Bui, darksaint and achtungku! Appreciate your replies.  :)

1. Looks like I need to give the car more time to warm up. Phew, though maybe something wrong with the transmission. Yes, I changed engine oil liao, almost the first thing I do with the car.

2. Seems I need 3rd party solution then… don't like the sight of wire dangling out of the glove box.

3. You guys are right, I should forget about FC and enjoy the ride… Coming from Honda Jazz, where I usually get 7.8 l/100km, this is a bit of "cultural shock"  :D

You may look for a bluetooth to aux device, then you can listen the music from your phone via bluetooth, but this might cause another issue, you can not control the music by steering wheel, and can not see the music title too. and can not use the bluetooth phone, but at least can wireless stream. alternatively, find a ipod is also a good way to get external music.

We believe the Comand is the only perfect solution, but it is too expensive just for the A2DP.

Great to have your input EleBest.

Past few days I have been going through all your upgrading photos and even Facebook page. I think I am poisoned liao  . But because my ride is still new to me, I'm prioritising other things first (tint, tune etc.).

Also, COMMAND doesn't quite appeal to me at this moment as I don't need GPS (use handphone), watch DVD, or surf Net while driving.

But I am attracted to CarPlay and that 360 view! Hope both will be available for W212 soon and I will be in line to retrofit  :D .

Was using belkin aircast. Which allows telephony and a2dp, if tuned to aux mode... Meaning when tuned to radio, phone comes in, u may not hear it.

I used was cos alway end up listening to CDs or radio... So still in car, still connected but seldom used.

Thanks, bravooc10.

Was thinking of this solution too for the A2DP. But it seems I will lose the bluetooth telephony function with voice of caller coming from car speakers…  :thumbsd:  Like that I may as well just burn my songs into CDs, solves the problem..

Haiz, so techno backwards for a 2010 car, despite all the technology benz put into the car (auto headlight, auto wipers, parktronic etc.).

Getting a UCI module to get the external music from Thumb drive, iPod, Aux also a good way to go, if you feel the Comand is not so necessary.
