Headlights and DRL

Hey guys, just wanted to ask a quick question to the bros out here. I currently own a W204 2013 model.

In the daytime when there is sunlight, my daytime running lights (DRL) will turn on, and if i click the button beside my light knob, i can turn it off and engage the main headlights instead.

However in the nighttime, when my headlights are turned on, pressing the button doesn't allow me to switch the lights back to the DRL mode. This sometimes irritates me because even when its in the afternoon but its cloudy, my headlights will automatically turn on and i want to engage it back to the DRL but it just won't let me. Is there anyway which i can over-ride this function and let me choose which lights i want to turn on and not be dependent on how bright it is outdoors?

Is it also possible to engage both the headlights and the DRL's and turn them on at the same time? Because i've seen quite a few c'classes doing this and it cant be done with mine.

Lastly, my headlights are currently the stock yellow colored lights. If i go to a workshop and change them to white bulbs, will my warrenty be voided?

Thanks once again for the trouble and i hope any bros out here will be able to enlighten me. Best Regards (:

Unless your car comes with the Intelligent Light System (ILS), the only way for your DRL to stay on even when your headlights are activated is to modify the electronics system. For the ILS system, when the headlights come on the DRL will dim to half brightness. This is so that it does not distract other motorist. As Ody_2004 mentioned, our site sponsor Sonic Racing will be able to help you modify your stock headlight system so your DRL stays on and automatically dims when the headlights are activated.

Unfortunately when it comes to warranty, the rule of thumb is warranty will be void for whatever component you modify. If your aftermarket HID bulb blows up in the headlight unit, don't expect C&C or any other dealer to cover the damages under warranty. Same goes for the DRL modification.
