Most buyer would go for the Petrol version as from what i know you will be forced to sign no malaysia diesel form.

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

Really that popular? Wow, waiting time of 1 year some more....a lot of things may happen while waiting, COE premium too dont know what is the value in Nov 2014. Guess just continue enjoying my ride at the moment (anyway just renew road tax/insurance).  Just afraid trade in price will drop so much if most demand latest S class.

how does the w222 sales compare with the w221? i heard that most of the orders are for the s400l hybrid

W222 is better than W221 sales . S400L is the entry for petrol engine and S350L is desiel version.

New Mercedes-Benz S-Class attracts strong local interest

What is half a million dollars in the Singapore context? Apparently it's not that big a deal if you happen to be one of the hundreds of people who have booked the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, reported The Business Times. Daimler South-East Asia, the distributor of Mercedes-Benz, would not confirm the number, but it is understood that close to 400 orders have been taken for the latest version of its flagship luxury limousine.

To be launched to 1,000 guests here tomorrow, the three available variants for now - the S350 CDI, S400 Hybrid, S500 - are priced approximately between $450,000 and $600,000 (including COE). Interestingly, a surprisingly sizeable number of the higher-end S500 model with a V8 engine has been snapped up - one quarter of all bookings compared to less than 10 percent previously.

"This group of customers has seen their wealth grow exponentially because of asset inflation, so $500,000 is not considered a major expense. But not only Singaporeans have benefited; it's a worldwide phenomenon," said one observer.

In its run-out year this year, the S-Class notched up sales of only 88 units in the first nine months, compared with its traditional rival, the BMW 7 Series, of which 209 units were registered in the same period, while the corresponding figure for the Audi A8 was 38 units. Last year, about 350 units of the S-Class were sold, and at its peak, this outgoing model racked up sales of 850 units in 2007, one year after its launch.

I was there yes its nice...But quite disappointed that it only come in elegance series crossing finger for avantgarde series was told by CnC that S will never come in avantgarde but elegance only. shaking head. the rear entertainment system looks cool and nice but too bad the price is not nice at all.....

 

Weight wise as expected it is going to be heavier than the previous S classes.

 

I would like to know the maintenance issue and cost for this S as well...seems like this is a whole new platform
