C&C so disappointing, try to fool owner..

Recommended Posts

My previous car was a Lexus and their service was SO MUCH better than C&C.

I would even go as far as to say C&C is putting me off buying my next car from them!!

Just an update.

Done my first 10K servicing. Had requested to do the firmware update which cost me $210...

Before

Every night passenger confirmed failed to work. Seat will totally stop responding. After a *certain* hour, the system will reset and thus problem solved! But backs almost every night.

After

Sometimes the seat will STILL goes dead at night and times even afternoon. Symptom are slight different now. Once the problem comes, the control panel will stop working, the seat will start to jerk forward every few mins. It will jerk all the way slowly to the front. I think someone did highlighted this where seat goes so near to the front that passenger can't even sit in.

I had bring to 2 workshop to check on the issue. WS 1 telling me that the control panel is kapu which requires to change. Cost about 800 in total to replace and reprogram. WS 2 tells me that the ECU for the seat kapu which I think most likely is the issue. Cost about 600 for the parts and 250 for the reprogramming.

WS 2 might be correct because they had tried to plug out the cable from the passenger seat and put it back. The seat magically works again!

So new workaround for now. Whenever the seat is dead, reach down the seat and plug out the cable and attach it back. The seat will comes to live again.

Meant while I have not replace any parts yet. Still testing if it's seriously hardware problem. For near 5 days now, have not seen the seat dead thou.

Hope plugging out the cable helps anyone who got this issue for now.

Bro my driver seat switch also died on me weeks back. Brought it to C&C to diagnose and will be due for a replacement under warranty claim.

However just a word of caution, mine is a w204 and be careful when pulling out any connector cos our seat has airbag and I previously tried to plug out and then in the connector my dash airbag light turns on. Resetting would mean a trip to C&C or a workshop that can reset such things.

There's a big connector cable below which you wont miss it or mis plug other cable. But well, this is just a temp solution before the parts is in.

I am getting the parts to be replace as well and hopefully it will solve the problem.

Just adding my 2 cents worth on the cause of a "fault".

I had once sent my car in for waxing and the worker there must have cleaned under the co-driver's seat very vigorously. It has loosened a cable which created a seat belt malfunction fault.

I had to send it to a w/s in Sin Ming to identify and fix the fault.

Hope it's useful.

Had done my change of parts yesterday. Things are doing good but still monitoring. Who ever interested to fix their problem can ping me.

Add, the seat ECU is likely faulty. They had changed the Seat's ECU and do the reprogramming.

Thx

Been facing this memory seat problem since day one of collection.

And C&C have been trying to kick me around and avoid to change the part related to memory seat

This will be my last car from Mercedes Benz.

I went to Alexandra to rectify the issue, they reflash (what SA Joanna claimed) the system...works ok so far, for more than 6 months already.

Same for me, did a reflash but problem came back always after a month or so .. been in and out of CNC for few times for my e coupe passenger seat and they gave me lifetime warranty for the dam seat.. but who will wanna go back once a month and waste 1 hour there.

Envy u Louis At least your SE willing to take the responsibility and cover your ass.

Till today all the SE I encounter have been kicking me around. I even video the non working memory seats and show them but their reply is they can't find anything wrong with my seats

Any boss here willing to share how to bang their table hard n sound

Well I haven't encountered any problems yet with C&C. But my standard rage method is to go down to their HQ, demand to see someone who can make an immediate decision and not leave the premise until I'm satisfied. As history goes, I'm always satisfied by the end of the day.

I don't believe in paying for substandard items. I work very hard for my money.  :mom:

Just had my rear brake changed after a routine Tyre change , problem is i went to C&C for a small repair last month. On the vehicle check list it was indicated that my rear brake has >50% to go....... i have a feeling that the mechanics had made some errors.....

After some experience with workshops. I rather learn to see the tyre myself. Workshop always says left less than 50% or 10% left. Bringing the car to see different workshop gives different advise. In fact you might even have 60% or more!

Just use your finger and feel the tyre thread. There is a small bridge in the groove which if the small bridge flush with the tyre. It's time to change.
