Small accident helps needed

Hi Guys,

 

Asking for advise. I had a very small accident while turning out to the main road. The vehicle in front has stop before turning out to the main road while in front of her has went out to the main road. I was checking the right traffic but did not realized that the car in front has stop thus bang into it.

 

Results in small damage. My grill went in and badge was damaged. The car in front has a dot size paint drop as well as 2 small dent scratch at the bumper.

 

Can know, who should be responsible to propose the resolution? Like, to advise which workshop and where. Because the owner insist to go to AD for the fix and I find it over price for a simple job.

 

 

Anyone has experience on this? If I insist to go to outside workshop and he don't agree. What's the possible result?

When it is your fault really got no choice lo..

 

No doubt he/she stop but failing to keep a distance and a lookout simply mean the other party got the "right" to claim.

 

What car involved? Agent maybe expensive but he claim your insurance lagi headache

yup, if she insist on going AD, you just have to get him to let you know the price before proceeding. Pay from your own pocket or claim insurance (check your insurance excess), you decide. It will definitely cost more than workshops, 3-4 times for respray.

btw, that was my very first accident many years ago...filtering out without noticing front car stop.

was in same situ before, i am the car in the back, had to pay for a 3.4K audi A4 bumper against my insurance, this case normally very clear cut... the car in front went back to AD as well... so LLST no choice.

Put it in another way, if someone hit your Merc you'd probably also insist going to agent for repairs. I for one will surely insist on going to AD for repairs.

You gotta weigh the up front cost of paying for the repairs yourself or going to your insurance for help. If you insist on outside workshop and the other party don't agree: They "not happy" can go report his/her insurance. Be prepared to pay an increased premium next year or worst case, your insurance might not even cover you since you didn't report the insident to them. Worst case scenario, claiming party insurance sues you for liabilities in court.

I kanna this before. LLST pay and move on. Now I always look infront instead of checking right for oncoming traffic. I only check when I am the first car at the junction.

Learnt this the hard way as well.  Just have to be patient, lotsa kuku drivers around these days!

This is the right way.... Haha. The rear guy confirm at fault, fail to maintain safe distance...

This kind of issues are quite standard. If you're in the wrong, you'll surely want to settle privately. If you're in the right, you'll want to go AD for repairs. Really boils down to if the person in the right is nice and willing to let you off lightly.

Another lesson learned from this is if you want to change AMG bumper with diffuser, stop your car when you are the first one in the line. Probably the AMG bumper can be half price from the compensation given.

Sorry to learn about your mishap bro... glad both you and the driver in the Audi were not injured. IMHO, so as not to cause further inconvenience to driver of the car that you hit just quickly go ahead and pay for the damage from your own pocket and get him/her to agree not to file an insurance claim. That is to prevent him/her from suing you for "whiplash" injury (you can't take chances as this form of injury is not easily detectable but will not be discounted in such claims), which will cost your insurance at the very least $10k including loss of use, medical bills, legal fees, pain and sufferings and even loss of income. Don't give him/her the reason to whack you because of dispute over $2k-$3k bro... that journey is just not worth it.

 

Just a friendly advise... if you are yielding before merging into the main lane, you may want to have your eyes on the vehicle in front of you coz it gives you no advantage to lookout for oncoming traffic when the immediate danger lies just in front of you.

I'm d victim b4 when a drunked man knocked my car with similar damaged like wat u elobarate ur victim's car, straight away i told him i go to ur workshop to repair & u juz pay for d damaged, he ok so both of us happy.

For ur case maybe u can try to reason out things with her by asking her 2 questions:

1) Hv u ever complain car ins premium is "Expensive" & keep increasing yr after yr & u always go ard get quotations yr after yr? (I believe majority who drives did)

2) Do u know why premium keep increasing?

Tell her, answers very simple, ins co. increased premium mainly becos of inflated claims which mainly caused by repairing ur car at AD be it small or big damaged. But making this work will need more than just a few enlightened individuals who are willing to play by the rules.

yup...well said but thats not going to happen. costs of everything will only head one direction...think even if you save on repair cost, they will still push premium up.
