Light steering feel on pre FL W212

Mercs

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

I have been experiencing light steering feel as compared to my previous FL W211. There seems to be very little resistance even at cruising speed of 80-90 km/h. I have external sport package stock 18" rim bridgestone potenza tire. Do any of the seniors here have the same feeling? Can we reduce the electronic assistance to the power steering.

TIA

steering quite subjective leh..

I find mine lighter as compare to my previous F10

but overall still pretty good feeling as opposed to older generation Merc ( W124 Etc)

Maybe you need to bring to C and C and check

Hi retiefgoosen,

Thanks for your reply. I know in the 5 series i test drove few years back, you can choose between 3 different steering feel. just wondering for the pre FL W212 has the option or it can be done at C&C.

If you still cant get use to the light steering, suggest to change to slightly larger tyre. I am using 225/16 now (original rim).

Steering is tighter and heavier, cornering is much better too. Overall feel is better.

*Yrs is 18" so tyre is already quite wide !
