Please recommend fluids for servicing

solar

Recommended Posts

hello guys.. in another 5k, my 60k is up and i'm thinking of doing it for my pre-fl c180 outside..

i have a servicing menu from cnc, which states the fluids that needed changed.

can anyone recommend what merc-approved brands are good, for a stock car.. no bbk, no upgraded kompressor/engine stuff yet?

engine oil (used mobil-1 5w40 ..any better ones out there?)

brake fluid

coolant

ATF

spark plug

another thing.. i noticed power steering fluid isn't mentioned for replacement..only top-up.. this one don't need to change meh?

if i wanna change, what brand and quantity is recommended?

If your ride is still under C&C warranty. .. it's best u stick to them and pay an arm and a leg for it.... else u can go to site sponsors like MBM which will cost u only a hand and a feet..... and I believe they know what's best for your ride. ...

thanks.. i'm thinking of mbm or autospritz.. but wanna get my own stuff..the better ones than standard ones available..

in cnc, in addition to the arm/leg, hate also the thought of having 2 days downtime.. plus other unpleasant experiences with cnc.

seriously considering ditching the warranty.. only less than a year to go..

How would you know what is better than the "standard" ones?

Mercedes Benz 229.5 standard for engine oils is one of the toughest around. Any oil that can make 229.5 is good. Mobil1 is one of them.

For ATF the standard is MB 236.14 for non 7GTronic.

Pick any from the list below

Unless you go to the track and drive hard. You will never boil your brake fluids, so it doesn't matter whether you get Castrol SRF or not. Likewise, for power steering fluid. It doesn't see as much heat as the other fluids so it doesn't wear out as fast.

thanks tanzy.. actually i meant from the standard merc-approved list, which is the better one to get..

for example, i used mobil1 and shell helix. while both are merc approved, i find the engine seemed noisier with shell than m1.

The factory fill for /////AMG engines is Mobil 1, 5w-40. So I guess that is OK.
