IMHO, the COMAND unit only looks good as it blends in with the console very nicely. However, I guess its map is not as often updated as after market ones. Maybe it even costs over S$1000 for an update (if it is available at all).

The Garmin Nuvi series (starts from just S$300 onwards) is a very good standalone GPS with very updated map, comprehensive POI (Point Of Interest) and Built-in Bluetooth for handsfree calling.
