Aircon on during driving with top down

Hi guys, just like to find out if you guys have the Aircon on when driving with the top down? Will it have any detrimental effect to the Aircon?

a few people i know do that...

I don't think it'd have any ill effects on the a/c, it still draws air from outside in. 

i've tried it before but find that the ambient air flow displaces the cold air, so just switch it off and enjoy the wind au naturale! : D

I do that. Especially in KPE tunnel. Hot max.

I do that in all my convertible cars, not always but sometimes; just set to blow only at footwell.

The Honda S2000 even has a top down mode for aircon settings.

Thanx for your reply. I wind up the window with top down but it still feels hot. So what I did is to off the Aircon but still let the outside Air come in thru the vent. But the air is warm so wondering if turning on the Aircon would have any adverse effects on the Aircon.

your aircon will work harder in trying to get to the target temperature you have set.
