The B-class is an evolution of the A-class and is somehow related.....the W168 is its distant great grandfather.

The W168 had this particular problem of a fuel sensor failure after certain mileage and it was pretty common then.

My ex-W168 (A160) had a fuel sensor failed at about 100 000 km.

Fuel sensor is in the fuel tank.

My previous A-class W168 decided to go into protection mode and locked the gear to 2nd below 10000km mileage.

The electronic component of the gearbox failed.

I am not surprise that there is a premature failure of component. It happened to my W203 when it was new.
