Door lock mechanism

Recommended Posts

Anyone experience problems with locking the door. My front passenger door, when locking the door, sometimes it will lock but won't unlock when I unlock. I have to open the door from the inside. Sometimes when I lock, it won't lock fully. The lock will go down halfway, n the door can still be open from the outside. Which is quite dangerous.

Anyone has any lobangs to solve this issue?

How old or new is your car? My guess is the door lock mechanism should be quite similar to W203. This is a whole unit with the motor and gears and it will wear after many years of using. The only solution is to change the whole unit.

Btw, don't bother to go back CnC for this type of problem unless claiming warranty.

what model?

The world Most dangerous thing is the Vehicle. Its not about the machine weather its slow or fast. Its the person who is controlling it. The driver is the brain of the Machine. Not the machine itself.

If the driver reacts slow even the most powerful ABS(Auto braking system) will not help. The driver has to give the car the command in Order for the car to react. Afterall he is the brain of the car.

Thanks all for the swift reply. It's the pre FL c180k 1.6l. Car registered at late 2009. 3 years plus car. It's the whole unit spoil? Called CnC earlier n have to leave the car for two days. Was wondering if there's other faster solutions to this.

If dont bother to go CnC, bros here got any workshop to recommend?

Thanks bros for all the suggestions n pm!

Bro clear vision, any idea what's the cause of this? Did MBM say anything? Is it the vacuum or the wire got any leaks? Cos I read from online that Merc use vacuum n pump air through the door locks. That's why their locks very solid. Up down very fast. Haha
